NordVPN Dedicated IP 2026: Your Own IP Address — What It Fixes and What It Doesn't
Shared VPN servers are the reason your banking app suddenly demands a CAPTCHA marathon: hundreds of strangers share one IP, somebody misbehaves, the address gets blacklisted, and you pay for it. A dedicated IP flips that — one IP address, assigned to you alone, that never changes. Get NordVPN with a dedicated IP.

What you actually get
A dedicated IP is exactly what the name says: a unique, static IP address assigned exclusively to your NordVPN account. Same address every session — no more login alerts from your bank, fewer "verify you are human" loops, and services that whitelist your IP actually stay whitelisted. It is an optional paid add-on to a NordVPN subscription, not included in any plan: you need an active NordVPN subscription first, then you buy the add-on at checkout or from your Nord Account dashboard. NordVPN's own page says it "costs extra" — the exact add-on price is shown at checkout, and we will not quote a number we could not verify on nordvpn.com today.
Official details, straight from NordVPN: setup takes up to 3 business days after you pick your server location; you can buy multiple dedicated IPs on one account, but total simultaneous connections stay capped at 10; your email is linked to the dedicated IP; on OpenVPN the same dedicated IP works on up to 10 devices at once, while NordLynx limits it to 1 device at a time. It is not available on tvOS, browser extensions, or the IKEv2 protocol. Locations we saw on the official page: Canada (Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver), Mexico (Mexico City), and the US — Ashburn, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Seattle.
Who is it really for? Remote workers connecting to company whitelists, people managing payment gateways and servers, online banking from abroad, and anyone tired of CAPTCHAs and "suspicious activity" emails. NordVPN's current promotional base plans (Basic $3.49/mo, Complete $4.49/mo, Prime $7.49/mo, each "+3 extra months" for the first 27 months) are first-term promo prices — the add-on stacks on top.
Honest gotchas
First, the big one, from NordVPN's own FAQ: a dedicated IP does not make you undetectable as a VPN user. It is a data-center IP linked to a VPN provider — services can still detect it as a VPN IP, and it is not a residential/household IP. If your goal is to look like a normal home connection, this is not that.
Second: CAPTCHAs get "less likely," not gone. Exclusive IP reputation means you stop inheriting strangers' bad behavior — but NordVPN explicitly frames this as reduced risk, not immunity. And streaming sites can still flag the IP as a VPN.
Third: it costs extra and is not instant. You are paying for the add-on on top of the subscription, setup takes up to 3 business days, and your email being linked to the IP means slightly less anonymity than shared IPs. NordLynx users also need to know: one device at a time on the dedicated IP, or switch to OpenVPN.
Quick answers
Can I buy the dedicated IP without a NordVPN plan? No — an active NordVPN subscription is required first; the dedicated IP is an add-on you buy at checkout or from your Nord Account dashboard. You can buy multiple dedicated IPs on one account.
Will it work on all my devices? On OpenVPN, the same dedicated IP works on up to 10 devices at once (total simultaneous connections stay capped at 10). On NordLynx — the fastest protocol — it is limited to 1 device at a time. It is not available on tvOS, browser extensions, or IKEv2.
How long does setup take? Up to 3 business days after you choose the server location, per NordVPN's own support pages. This is not an instant-upgrade feature — plan ahead if you need it for travel.
Who it is for — and the verdict
A dedicated IP fits remote workers, bank-and-broker users, and anyone whose accounts punish shared IPs. If you just want to unblock streaming or browse anonymously, save the money — a standard plan already does that.
The honest deal: your own static IP that ends the CAPTCHA lottery — as a paid add-on, with real (not magical) privacy properties. Check the dedicated IP add-on at NordVPN checkout — or see current NordVPN plan deals.
